Chief Minister Package for Quetta Development was initiated in FY 2016–17 following an announcement by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, (Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif), during his visit to Quetta, with commitment of Rs. 5 Billion by the Prime Minister, in addition of Rs. 5 Billion by the then Chief Minister of Balochistan, (Nawab Sanaullah Zehri). Later on the Government of Balochistan took over the project. As of now the entire Package is being funded by the Provincial Government.

So far, more than 10 schemes / projects have been successfully completed under this package. In view of the satisfactory performance and effective implementation, the Government of Balochistan has continued to expand the scope of work by incorporating additional schemes / arterial roads network in Quetta City.

To implement strategic civil development projects focused on the construction, improvement and beautification of roads, public buildings and recreational facilities, to promote safe mobility, urban resilience and economic vitality, and to provide the citizens of Quetta with a cleaner, more organized and inclusive urban environment through transparent, efficient and high-quality planning and development practices
